Rural Policy for Queensland

In the wake of a crushing drought, the Society, AgForce representing broadacre agriculture and NRM Regions Queensland representing the 12 regional catchment bodies have formed a collaboration to bring into focus the challenges facing the pastoral industry and to explore solutions. Current policy settings need to be reviewed so that landholders are incentivised to preserve ecosystem functions, more funding is invested in managing our pastoral landscapes, population drift is reversed, and new thinking is focused on managing drought and floods within an era of climate change.
