The Physical Library of The Royal Society of Queensland

The Physical Library of The Royal Society of Queensland

The library of The Royal Society of Queensland consists of more than 20,000 volumes collected over more than a century from around the world. The collection policy has been opportunistic rather than systematic, but includes many works that would be difficult to find in print otherwise. Many foreign language publications have been secured through exchange for copies of the Proceedings of the Royal Society of Queensland.

The library is co-located with the library of Queensland Museum. Only members of the Society are entitled to borrow volumes. The public has limited access, by arrangement with the Museum Librarian.

An index of the Society’s collection is available here.
